It seems like Ivanka Trump's latest business venture has hit a bit of a snag - or should we say, a soggy swamp. Reports have surfaced that she has been caught selling waterlogged real estate in the perpetually soggy city of Sarasota, Florida. This comes hot on the heels of her failed attempt to ban women pastors, proving once again that her business acumen may not be as sharp as her father's Twitter fingers.
One can only imagine the pitch Ivanka must have given to potential buyers: "Why settle for dry land when you can have a waterfront property right in the comfort of your own living room? Just think of the convenience of having a swimming pool in your basement, courtesy of Mother Nature herself!"
But alas, it seems that the buyers were not as enthusiastic about the idea of wading through their own living rooms every time it rained. Perhaps Ivanka should have taken a cue from her father's playbook and focused on selling steaks instead - at least those wouldn't come with a side of swamp water.
As for her failed attempt to ban women pastors, one can't help but wonder if the two incidents are somehow related. Maybe Ivanka thought that by selling waterlogged real estate, she could drown out the voices of female clergy members. Or perhaps she was simply trying to create a new revenue stream by offering "baptismal services" along with each purchase.
Whatever the case may be, one thing is for sure: Ivanka Trump's foray into the world of real estate has turned out to be a bit of a wash - both literally and figuratively. Maybe next time she should stick to selling handbags and leave the swampy sales pitches to the professionals.
